Skylar Marie Jones is our beautiful little girl who was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) type 1 early this year. Skylar is such a champ and we are so proud of her for everything she's endured already. Her sweet little spirit brings smiles to the faces of everyone she meets and she's just so stinkin' cute, you can't help but love her.

As we were finding out that there was something wrong with Skylar, but before we knew the extent of it, my dear friend said, "Most people are like dandelions... they can be tossed in the wind, take root wherever they land, and grow up just fine. However, there are some people in this world who are more like orchids. They need a lot of special care and their surroundings have to be just right for them to survive. Maybe Skylar is an orchid..." And I think she is right.

We're hoping that the special care we give her, the love from her family and friends, and a miracle from God will allow this little orchid to grow up and live a full and happy life.
